I was introduced to a Taiwanese skincare brand Naveen recently and was really excited to hear that they offered organic halal products that are free of chemical preservatives, artificial fragrances, silicone and animal testing. Y’all probably know by now how much I love organic skincare! Eco-friendly and biodegradable materials are used for the minimalist packaging and all products are Cosmos Organic and Halal certified.
Naveen has skincare lines tailored specifically for both men and women, mothers and babies and are suitable for all skin types. I tested out three products consistently over the course of 2 weeks, and here’s my verdict.
Naveen Chamomile Moisturizing Cream
Having had to manage eczema for over a few years now, I’m constantly on the lookout for natural products that are highly nourishing and soothing to help calm and prevent painful flare-ups. That’s why I decided to pick out the Moisturizing Cream in the Chamomile range. I was especially drawn to it because it’s supposed to be excellent for calming itching caused by eczema and psoriasis. It’s also great for soothing dry, itchy and flaky skin, rashes and acne. I’ve tried all sorts of creams over the years, from low to high price points, and I have to say – I’ll be adding this baby to my list of SOS skincare favourites!
The texture is not sticky at all and has a slightly runny consistency, which makes it easy to smooth onto the skin. Applying the cream onto eczema prone areas really did its job in keeping my skin soothed and moisturized. The pump applicator makes it hygienic and helps to control the amount you use. 2 – 3 pumps would be enough to moisturize my entire face, and an additional 2 pumps are for my ears and neck area. I give this product two major thumbs up!
Naveen Rose Firming Eye Cream
I’ve been meaning to find a good eye cream, because the ones I’ve tried previously were either too heavy or too drying for my liking. Thick eye creams also tend to exacerbate the appearance of milia under my eyes. Since I wanted to try something from the Rose range, I decided to choose the Firming Eye Cream. I take about a pump or two of the cream and use the tip of my ring fingers to gently pat and roll the product around my eye area, in counterclockwise motions.
As my skin tends to get really dry, especially around my eye area, this cream gets the job done and is a great base for my under-eye concealer. It doesn’t feel oily as it contains jojoba oil, of which the molecular structure is closest to the natural sebum of our skin. Its anti-inflammatory properties and algae help to prevent signs of premature aging. I feel like my eye area is definitely more moisturized throughout the day, and is less likely to crease after applying concealer. The pleasant mild scent of roses also keeps me relaxed in the mornings. And so far it doesn’t seem to cause any buildup of milia – a plus point for sure!
Naveen Hydrating Mask
The Hydrating Mask comes in a simple recycled paper box and there are 6 masks contained in each box. It’s made of organic-certified cotton and the mask is soaked in a serum which contains a mixture of organic Aloe Vera, Rose Damascene water, chamomile water, and hyaluronic acid to deeply nourish and rejuvenate dull and tired looking skin.
The cotton feels really soft and fine, not scratchy or prickly at all. And the serum gives the skin an instant surge of moisture. It feels really cooling and calming and I always want to fall asleep 5 minutes into wearing it. After leaving it on for 20 minutes each time, I notice that my skin feels instantly plumped up and looks really refreshed and hydrated.
Naveen skincare is currently available at TANGS 1 Utama Shopping Centre, Isetan KLCC (2nd Floor), all M+ Natural Remedies (from 1st December onwards) and via the worldwide shopping site here.
