Givenchy announces the arrival of a new Creative head…and this time, they picked a woman. Clare Waight Keller, the ex-creative director of Chloé replaces Riccardo Tisci who announced his departure in January.
The brand announced the news via its Instagram account accompanied by an image of Clare shot by Steven Meisel, prior to which it posted a quote which read: “True elegance comes with a natural gesture, an attitude in simplicity”, to accompany the image of the brand’s founder, Hubert de Givenchy. In her new role, Clare will be responsible for the house’s women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and accessories collections, as well as haute couture. We are all eager to see the vision that Clare, who is known for her feminine bohemian-inspired designs, will bring to Givenchy, in contrast to Riccardo’s edgy, darkly romantic and mystifying direction.
