It’s all about minimalistic pieces for H&M as they presented their Spring/Summer Studio collection during Paris Fashion Week. With its “see now, buy now” format during the anticipated fashion week, one could hardly refuse. It is said that the collection is inspired by Japan’s urban grace and innate minimalism.
The event had taken place at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs where the museum was converted into a modern vision of exemplary Japanese interior along with iconic tatami mats and ikebana compositions. The likes of celebrities such as Naomie Harris, Alexa Chung and Joan Smalls were present and they were treated to a mouthwatering Japanese dinner before the runway show begin. After the show the guest were entertained by the Strawhatz dance group with their kinetic dance performance.
These were some of the famous faces that were present:
Caroline de Maigret
Pierre Niney and Natasha Andrews
Here’s a look at the collection :
Upon closer inspection, one will notice that the collection features clean silhouettes that are laid back and eye catching abstract print that is inspired by the Japanese writing system. Additionally workwear tailoring, free-flowing fabrics and statement knits are added to complete the collection’s look. The pieces were donned by a stellar cast featuring Adowa Aboah, Amber Valetta, Grace Elisabeth and
H&M’s Design Director, Pernilla Wohlfahrt was indeed excited about their strong statement of print and colour along with clean lines that are inspired by Japanese design and can’t wait to see how customers style their favourite pieces.
For those wondering who had done the models makeup on the runway, the look was done by make-up artist Isamaya Ffrench who had used H&M Beauty products.
The H&M studio collection is indeed special as it has its own design team. For those interested can head down to H&M in Lot 10 to get their shopping done.
