Runway Report: Marni SS17
For Spring Summer 2017, Marni went all out in terms of size, comfort, convenience and abstract design. Off-whites, beiges, and buttermilk tones dominated the runway for their collection, with an abstract and asymmetrical composition in their looks.
We ladies yearn for more dresses with pockets, and Marni satisfies this need as well as takes it new heights (or sizes). The peplum design is emphasized with poofy, hip-widening strap-on poacher-pocket bags that created a ladybug-like shape around the model’s waist and hips.
Coats are oversized that hangs on the figure while looking incredibly flowy, adorned with nautical ropes. Large, puffy and billowy sleeves are dished out, while prints on the pieces are varied – from compact noise to tight, flowy, graphic lines. There’s also a boxy, pitch black dress with odd cuts that looked like it’s been slashed with incredible precision.
