Renowned local fashion brand Twenty3 recently showcased its Ready To Wear 2017 Collection at Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week. This would be the brand’s first year on the runway as Twenty3, where before, its sub-brands, Sher and Lin, took the spotlight.
“We wanted to present Twenty3 in its entirety this year, as opposed to focusing on the individual identities of our sub-brands.” said Twenty3 Creative Director, SoBu.
The collection titled Beyond The Lines was led by SoBu and Twenty3’s in-house designers Cheng, Vivien and Yen Yon.The team are well versed with what’s the in thing and have even worked alongside internationally recognised designers among the likes of Rick Owen, Khoon Hooi, Mary Katrantzou and Leonardo Salinas.
The runway saw 12 looks, crafted from a palette of black and indigo tones, contrasted with clean white, soft pink and azure. The collection also featured denim, structured shirting and strict lines. Not to forget the relaxed hoodies, floral embroideries and voluminous bell sleeves.
Without further ado, here’s the looks the models had on that day.
As the images above show, Twenty3 has explored the themes of androgyny, rebellion and freedom. The idea of empowerment is emphasized in the way pieces are worn, with shirts and jackets styled off-the-shoulder in rebellion.
Above all Twenty3 has successfully stayed true to their vision in designing clothes for the woman on-the-go, each look can be worn both day and night.
