Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds recently proclaimed his hope to see more R-rated superhero movies at a BuzzFeed Brews event in San Francisco. Backed by his co-star T.J. Miller, the star said “I hope that they make other (superhero) films that are rated R,” before further explaining “I’d love to see an X-Men movie that’s rated R. I’d love to see something in the Avengers [rated R]. I’d love to see all that. I think it’s fun.”
His co-star added “It’s time that we stopped doing the same PG-13 formula for the superhero comic book movie over and over and over,”
Well some slightly more traditional movie-goers are likely to protest as many took to Facebook to slam a particularly outspoken critic who took to print media (The Star newspaper) to air their disgruntled views about the Deadpool movie which was released in theatres on February 12th.
However as an R-rated rating rakes in less profits due to the limited audience numbers, it looks like having some profanity and nudity laced fun will come at a high cost – of their filming budget.
