The grand dame of Japanese avant garde Yayoi Kusama will be holding her first solo exhibition in Singapore this coming June.
Titled Yayoi Kusama: Life is the Heart of a Rainbow, viewers will be treated to Kusama’s signature splash of orange and black polka dots, infinity mirror rooms, and pumpkin sculptures. More than 120 pieces of her artwork – from paintings to sculptures, videos to installations – created within the span of 70 years will be available on display.

Her work is based in conceptual art and often displays attributes of feminism, surrealism, pop art, occasionally with a dash of psychological or sexual content.
Prep your flight or bus tickets! The exhibition dates have been released: 10 June to 3 September 2017 at the Singapore National Gallery. Keep an ear and an eye out for admission prices.
