The actor was supposed to have married Gabriella, a model and ex-beauty queen, on July 29th this year, according to mStar, the Star Online’s Malay-language portal.
The 46-year-old Malaysian actor posted a note on Instagram this afternoon.
“Dear members of the media and friends, it is with great sadness that I announce my plans to marry, made after my engagement on [February 28th] of this year, will not take place. Developments after the announcement of the engagement have led, after much soul searching, to my decision not to proceed with the wedding. I do apologise to all my friends and family who have all supported me tremendously over the last few months with their very kind wishes for great happiness for my future. Thank you once again for all your support and understanding.”
Hans’ note follows another post that read “Never doubt your instinct” and the caption “a leopard will never change HER spots! Time to move on.”
Speculations of a troubled relationship first began last June when Hans announced that the July 29th nuptials be postponed to “a few months later”.
Hans and Gabriella were meant to tie the knot on 29th July, but they announced in June that the wedding was being postponed as Gabriella’s father had work commitments overseas, which clashed with the date. In August, it was speculated that the couple had broken up when both deleted photos of each other from their public Instagram accounts. However, both dashed those rumours, with the beauty queen and emcee adding that she only meant to make her private and professional life separate.
However, Hans’ Instagram post today, of a photo of the words “Never Doubt Your Instincts” with the caption, “A leopard will never change HER spots! Time to move on” told a different story.
Right after announcing their engagement last February, Hans and Robinson hit their first hurdle in their relationship when Robin Coenraad, professing to be Robinson’s boyfriend, had said that Robinson had cheated on him with Hans.
