After a few week of healthy eating we decided to embark on a juice cleanse. We didn’t want to try it out early in the new year so that we don’t shock our system. With any diet or healthy eating plan remember to always start gradually and listen to what your body needs.
The day I received the La Juiceria juices I was feeling unwell with a mild fever and developing flu symptoms, I wasn’t feeling great. Since the juices are recommended to only last for no more than 2 days I had to make sure I started on that day. First up was PAM ( Pineapple, apple, mint) It was refreshing with a sour tinge, so it was most definitely a pick me up. At midday I had the Chocolate Almond Mylk (raw almonds, alkaline hydrogen water, cinnamon, organic cocoa, wildflower honey, Himalayan salt ). This was more filling that the morning juice, and I took my time to finish the juice rather than drink it all in one go. I felt a little hungry and snacked on avocados and pine nuts.
At about 5pm I had Orange Power (orange, carrot) Orange and carrot is my favourite juice combination so I really enjoyed this. Arriving home at 7:30pm I had Love W (watermelon, apple, beetroot) Love W is cooling and hydrating, it aids in relieving fever and sore throats. I had the Cilantro Celery Punch (cilantro, celery, apple, lemon, ginger ) an hour before bedtime . I felt a bit hungry in between so i had some vegetable soup (as recommended by La Juiceria in case I felt hungry).
The first thing I noticed when I woke up in the morning was that my fever and flu was gone. I felt fresh, lighter and my stomach was visibly flatter (not bloated). I felt great and the juice cleanse seem to cure my fever and flu symptoms from the day before. I was more well prepared on day 2, as I brought along some avocados, carrots and cucumbers to snack on if I felt peckish. The juice cleanse helped me differentiate between hunger and a need to snack/chew on something. Sometimes we don’t notice but chewing on something or snacking can be a bad habit, and its not necessarily because you’re hungry. So when I felt hungry I would have a juice first and see how I felt. If I still felt hungry I would snack on some veggies.
A juice cleanse is a great way to get back on track, especially if you feel like you’ve been overeating or eating unhealthily. It resets both your body and mind back into a clean healthy eating regime. Make sure to try it out. For more information visit lajuiceria.com.my.
