Johor Princess Tunku Tun Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Sultan Ibrahim will marry former Tampines Rovers Football Club’s marketing manager Dennis Muhammad Abdullah on Aug 14, the state Royal Council announced on Sunday (July 16).
Its president Datuk Abdul Rahim Ramli said that Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar and Permaisuri Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris Shah have consented and given their blessings to the wedding.
Tunku Tun Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Sultan Ibrahim, will be tying the knot with Dennis Muhammad Abdullah, the marketing manager of Tampines Rovers Football Club in Singapore.
Described as friendly and humble, the 31-year-old princess is the royal patron of the Johor Baru Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) and Johor Baru International Festival City. She also holds the position as the JDT Football Club president since appointed last year.
Born on April 8, 1986, Tunku Aminah is the second of six siblings and the only daughter of Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar and Permaisuri Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris Shah.
Her soon-to-be husband was born as Dennis Verbaas on May 1, 1989, in Lisse, a town near Amsterdam, Holland. However, Dennis embraced Islam on May 31, 2015.
Dennis worked as a semi-professional footballer for Lisse and VV Katwijk football clubs and JDT Concept Store and Cafe manager before becoming the marketing manager of Tampines Rovers Football Club in Singapore.
The betrothal ceremony is set to be held at 10am on Aug 14 at Istana Bukit Serene followed by the solemnisation ceremony and bersanding ceremony which will be held at 8pm on the same day at the throne room of the Istana Besar.
