Once upon a time, Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom got married in 2010, but the gorgeous couple later divorced in 2013 after three years of marriage. They share a son together, named Flynn. Since then, they have both found happiness in their respective relationships, with the actor going steady with singer Katy Perry and the Australian model recently having gotten engaged to Snapchat’s co-founder and CEO Evan Spiegel in July 2016.
Although it sounds pretty easy-going and fuss-free, it wasn’t really all that smooth sailing for Miranda Kerr apparently. Kerr recently opened up in an interview about how she actually struggled with depression following her breakup with Orlando Bloom.
“When Orlando and I separated, I actually fell into a bad depression,” she said. “I never understood the depth of that feeling or the reality of that because I was naturally a very happy person.” In order to cope and deal with the symptoms, the model resorted to holistic habits such as meditation, yoga, watching her diet, and aromatherapy. As a result it made a significant and positive difference in her mental well-being.
“When I wake up and when I go to bed, I have that attitude of gratitude, and I say, ‘Thank you for this beautiful day, for this roof over my head, for the fact that I have my health, and my son has his health, and thank you for our family,” said Kerr. “What I have found is that everything you need, all of the answers are deep inside of you. Sit with yourself, take a few breaths and get close to your spirit.”
We salute Miranda for being able to pull through her struggle, taking care and allowing herself to come back stronger and happier – now with her new beau.
