Number 76 OWAY Head Spa Treatment Review
I didn’t quite know what to expect when I said yes to the OWAY Head Spa treatment at Number 76 Tribeca. I am not one to sit still for two hours let alone an hour during my regular facial visits, so when I said yes to the review I was overcome by a slight tinge of regret ( it only lasted 5 seconds) when I realised it would take at least two hours of my day. Looking back, I’m VERY glad I said yes to the review and am, in fact, looking forward to my next visit to the salon.
So what is OWAY? Organic Way, or officially known as OWAY is the first professional hair care line based on biodynamic extracts, micronised plants, hydrolates and essential oils. Founded in Italy, all OWAY hair care product ingredients are harvested and produced at Ortofficina, a farm estate in the Hills of Bologna. For environmentally savvy enthusiasts, you will be pleased to know that their ingredients are organic, ethical, free of pesticides, herbicides, insecticides and synthetic fertilizers used in conventional agriculture. The products are also free from SLS/SLES, parabens, artificial colourings, synthetic frgrances, EDTA and petroleum-based ingredients to name a few.
At Number 76, the OWAY Head Spa treatment aims to regenerate the mind and revitalise the scalp and hair. There are four main treatments that are available at the salon and they include the Ultra-delicate Soothing treatment (for red and sensitive skin), Purifying and regulating treatment (oily/dandruff), Detoxifying and restorative treatment (oily scalp) and Micro stimulating treatment (thinning hair). A complementary anti-aging ‘Flowerfall ritual’ is also included during the treatment.
I was greeted by my friendly and professional stylist Lucas, who gave my hair and scalp a thorough assessment. It was a pretty easy process and I was mortified to discover that I had a dry and flaky scalp! Lucas kindly suggested the Purifying treatment that combines the purifying power of Thyme with the delicate mechanical exfoliation of Rice Wax Micro-granules. The treatment is recommended for both oily and dry dandruff.
From start to finish, the overall experience was delightful and one that left me in an unexpected cheery mood for two days (my colleagues can attest to that). But mood aside, what did I think of the treatment? My scalp felt fresh and my hair was soft and smooth to the touch with a visible healthy shine. Growing up with naturally thick and frizzy hair, I did not think that this was achievable but there I was looking in the mirror with my healthy locks bouncing with renewed vigour and joy. Would I do it again? Very rarely does a treatment of any sort succeeds in luring me back in for a second round (or as a regular customer) but I must say that the OWAY Head Spa treatment wins this round!
So if you are looking to treat yourself or your loved ones with something special, head over to Number 76 and give their OWAY Head Spa a try!
