The Grammy’s lost one of their biggest attractions, when Rihanna cancelled her performance at the last minute.
It was reported that the singer was set to perform a song from her latest album, ANTI, where she would’ve executed a very extravagant performance. James Corden, who was intended to introduce the singer during the show, revealed that Rihanna built her performance around the premise that she was a guest appearing on a fictional 80s talk show called As It Lays. Corden would’ve played the talk-show host and emerged in a full 80s getup – including a flashy suit he had been fitted for on Sunday.
Unfortunately, the singer was forced to cancel her performance due to some serious medical hazards she will be risking. Knowing Rihanna, she was determined to perform and even rehearsed twice during the day but her doctor recommended that the singer, who has been struggling with bronchitis, to sit this one out. Rihanna was reportedly told by the doctor that if she were to go through with the performance, she would be risking permanent vocal-cord damage.
Riri reportedly did attend the show but did not walk the red carpet. Going straight to twitter to express how sorry she was for missing out,” “#NAVY so sorry I couldn’t be there ….. Thanks Grammys and CBS for your support tonight,” she posted.
