Aretha Franklin was known as the Queen of Soul and truly had touched many with her music. It is indeed such a sad loss for the music industry and the whole word. It’s been a week and we still can’t believe it but this we know for sure her music will live on in all of us.
She had passed away on August 16th at the age of 76 from her battle with advanced pancreatic cancer. Her funereal is set to take place on the 31st August at 10.a.m ET at Greater Grace Temple in Detroit. Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Hudson, Yolanda Adams and Jennifer Holiday will be amongst those set to perform at her send off.
There of course will be public viewings held on the August 28th and August 29th according to Aretha’s publicist Gwendolyn Quinn at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit.
Multitude of tributes had come in for the Queen of Soul all over the media. The likes of Clive Davis, Barbra Streisand, Diana Ross, Elton John, President Clinton and Secretary Clinton to name a few.
