Everybody loves a good holiday be it near or far and that involves travelling which of course involves packing. Its safe to say that most people, especially for us women who tend to carry more than necessary at times dread packing for trips followed by returning and having to unpack. We’d recommend giving Tumi’s bags a try as they recently collaborated with Orlebar Brown, one of British luxury swimwear and have come up with some lovely totes which are beach friendly as the base is waterproof.
In other words, PERFECT to use for that *drumroll* Summer trip you’ve been dying to take
#1 Make a list
It is essential, yet some of us take this basic tip for granted. From there we are able to gauge what is the bare essentials needed on the trip.Be realistic. After which, categorize the list.
#2 Clothing and accessories
To each their own, pack smart and take into consideration where is your destination and what are the activities you’ll be participating in during the trip. Summer usually equates a trip to the beach, ergo swimming stuff from goggles, snorkels to sandals and flip flops. Not to forget your vital sun protection (hat).
Always and I repeat always try to limit your liquids as being held up in the airport for more than 100ml per item is ridiculous, that’s if its in your hand carry luggage. Its ideal to just stow it in your suitcase. In the absence of a suitcase and just a hand-carry, it would only make sense to just purchase the essential toiletries when you arrive at your destination. Placing the toiletries in transparent bags is advisable.
P.S. Don’t forget the Aloe Vera for after sun care! The perfect natural remedy for sunburn, after all you are headed to the beach.
#4 Travel Aids
To stay entertained throughout the flight, a book and some good music can do wonders. Sleeping mask, travel games (cards) and a travel pillow too.
#5 Save bag space for your holiday purchases.
Be it duty free gifts or souvenirs, without a doubt on return your bag is bound to be much heavier with all the goodies in tow. Bear in mind, to pack minimal that way more shopping can be done.
