The Golden Globes never fails to wow when it comes to makeup and hairstyle inspiration. At this year’s awards ceremony glamorous waves and retro inspired hairstyles abounded but there were some that took the hairstyling game up a notch with fresh new twists on existing hairstyles.
The bobbed hairstyle was all the rage at the recent Golden Globes awards ceremony with stars ranging from Amber Heard to Cate Blanchett, Rachel Bloom and Kate Winslet. Be it a faux bob or the real deal, the celebs were spotted rocking their short dos.
Not to be outdone by their more popular cousin, the lob was also seen on several stars, notably Lily James, Eva Green and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. If you’re not keen on chopping off your tresses, try the faux bob. Cate Blanchett’s take on the faux bob had an interesting spin in the form of the braided underside.
For those who want to glamorize their bobs and lobs but don’t want the more commonly employed wavy style, take a leaf from Malin Akerman and Sophia Bush’s style book and opt for a slicked back look that’s minimalistic and ends in a tiny ponytail.
Luscious long tresses were not to be left out as well with particularly glossy looks from Zendaya Coleman, Emmy Rossum, Amy Adams and Olivia Wilde who sported their crowning glories in cascading waves.
Olivia Wilde’s gorgeous ombre locks certainly added some spice to the otherwise classic wavy style. Bryce Dallas Howard instead opted for a low maintenance glossy pin-straight look with a deep right part. The minimalistic look was certainly in with celeb, Caitriona Balfe sporting a sleek low ponytail and clearly defined middle parting that pulled the hair back from her face, the better to show off her perfect cheekbones. Natalie Dormer chose the more tousled laid-back style with a messy ponytail with face-framing wisps of hair.
