THE 16-YEAR-OLD SPRINTER
Felicia Mikat won 3 golds in the 100m, 200m, and 400m race at the 8th ASEAN Paralympics in Singapore last December 2015. Despite her large accomplishment, not many people have heard of this young athlete.
SHE WORKED FOR IT
Like all athletes, Felicia knows that no success comes without hard work.
“I’m thankful to God. I was quite nervous during my first race (100m T13), but after winning it, I became more confident,” said Felicia. “I’m at my school field in the afternoon every day. My team-mates and I run on the grass field, but it can be a challenge when it rains. Our coach Tony Sawan is really dedicated.”
FELICIA MIKAT’S GOLDEN GLORY
Felicia’s story came to our attention when it recently went viral on social media. Although she suffers from a visual impairment, it doesn’t make her accomplishments any less important. On the contrary, Felicia made Malaysia proud (especially in her first Games)! Congratulations Felicia.
