Now that Ha Long Bay has posted a restriction on boat hotels due to water pollution, many tourists have been denied the experience of spending the night in a boat afloat on the lake. So let’s be quick to recommend our foreign friends the presence of Lake Kenyir. Located on the east coast of the peninsular, the lake offers breath-taking views of Tanjung Mentong. The lake was formed in 1985 when authorities build a dam along the Kenyir River. It remains, until today, the largest man-made lake in Malaysia. Be sure to book yourself a stay in the boathouses! That’s the highlight of the lake!
