#2 Mossy Forest, Cameron Highlands
Aside from Brinchang Mountain and Tanah Rata, Mossy Forest is an especially captivating trail to discover if you’re in Cameron Highlands – especially if you’re a fan of the movie The Lord of the Rings. That’s because the mist-shrouded moss-covered plants and trees along the terrain are reminiscent of the ones in the movie scenes. Nature buffs will be pleased to know that the endangered Rafflesia (the world’s largest flower) can be spotted here and you’ll also get to enjoy the stunning view of Southeast Asia’s largest tea plantation — the Boh Plantation. While you’re there, take some time to experience the native lifestyle of the Semai tribe. From learning to use a blowpipe to understanding their culture and traditions, you are bound for a real treat. However, do note that the soil can be wet and muddy, even on sunny days, so make sure to wear shoes with enough grip to navigate through a slippery trail.
