The 70th Primetime Emmy Awards returns to celebrate televisions best. The celebration of television shows to the best fashion looks, and heartfelt speeches is something we all look forward to. What we were excited about though turns out to be a let down. We’re talking about Killing Eve star Sandra Oh’s nomination for her stellar performance as MI6 agent – Eve Polastri in BBC’s America renowned series, Killing Eve.

Its 2018 and this is the first time in the 69-years of awards history that a woman of Asian descent is nominated for the lead actress awards category in either drama or comedy and of course we’re beyond ecstatic. But faith wasn’t on Sandra Oh’s side as she didn’t win the award, so much for change one might say. Fans are upset and have taken to social media about this. Even the Outstanding Lead Actress Claire Foy, who was this year’s winner was taken aback on her win and had this to say –
“This wasn’t supposed to happen,” when she went up on stage to collect her first career Emmy. “Sandra Oh, I just love ya.”
Here’s some of the many postings regarding fans disappointment with Sandra’s historic moment miss.
I agree with Claire Foy. This was not supposed to happen. Sandra Oh was ROBBED. #Emmys pic.twitter.com/3T3RlcataS
