Not all political leaders end their years in office clean and scandal-free like President Obama. Recently elected President Trump does not exempt. From the weirdest to the plain creepy, here are our picks of the top 5 political sex scandals.
Those who are at least a little bit in tune with the media would have probably heard of the recent United States’ President-elect, Donald Trump’s golden showers scandal. For those who are haven’t? Let us elaborate. CNN stated that the Russian operatives collected a range of damaging material on Trump, and one particularly shocking news was published on Buzzfeed –that the President-elect booked himself the presidential suite at the Ritz Carlton, Moscow and indulged in hiring a group of prostitutes to perform the act of… (erm) ‘golden shower show’ in front of him. Despite his declaration that it was false and that he is actually a Germaphobe. But nevertheless, no one is sure whether this news is true or false.

Many people were surprised when the 43rd US President was accused of a sex scandal. A woman from Texas, Denise Schoedinger claimed that she was drugged and raped by none other than Bush, but the lawsuit fail to receive the media coverage that it needed. Even stranger than that, she decided to commit suicide before the lawsuit even took place, by shooting herself in the face. Either it was a lie, or Bush’s administration succeeded in hiding the truth, it seems no one will know now.
Once a cheater, always a cheater. His affair with his 22 year old secretary, Lucy Mercer was kept a secret until the time of his death. Roosevelt’s wife, Eleanor, had found love letters between the two and attempted to file for a divorce, but he persuaded and promised that he would break it off, Eleanor then decided to halt the separation. However, unfortunately Lucy had ended up being found on Roosevelt’s death bed in 1945.
Conservative, told to be homophobic former U.S. Sen. Larry Craig (R-Idaho) was caught attempting to solicit sex by tapping his foot in a men’s restroom in Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport. Although he pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of disorderly conduct, he had denied that he is gay and claims that he has a wide stance and was trying to pick up a piece of paper in the bathroom stall. Despite his efforts to prove his heterosexuality, Craig announced his resignation from Congress in September 2007 but ultimately chose to finish his term.
The former New York Govenor had counterattack his own vision to bring ethics and integrity to the governor’s office through his outrageous and expensive dalliances. He had reportedly spent $80,000 total on prostitutes after he was caught using the services of the Emperors Club VIP. This information was published due to the FBI’s investigation about Spitzer’s suspicious money transfers. Although he was never prosecuted for his involvement with the prostitution ring due to the lack of evidence, he had failed to win the election for New York City Comptroller in 2013.
