THE POKE CRAZE
Bearing a name drastically similar to the Nintendo game that took the globe by storm last year, the poke (poh-kay) bowl is quickly making its way into the list of top food fads in KL. Traditionally served as an appetiser in Hawaii, a poke dish consists of raw fish (commonly salmon or yellowfin tuna) marinated in soy sauce, accompanied with various toppings (avocado, furikake, eggs, vegetables), drizzled with a special sauce, and serve on a bed of rice.
