You don’t want your Chinese New Year party to blend in with the crowd. There will be more than just 5 CNY parties you have already been invited to. And we’re pretty sure that you do not want yours to just blend in with the crowd. While food will go a long way to be the topic of discussion, why not mix up a special concoction just for your guests at your parties?
Save the packet drinks you can get at your grocery stores for the children and non drinkers. Try out some of these special cocktails that will guarantee a good time and a stand out party with your guests!
Blood Orange Margarita
Keep to the festive mood by juicing 2 blood oranges and 1 half of a lime. Add that mixture of juice with silver tequila of your choice, the amount varies depending on your alcoholic content preferences. Add in some Cointreau and 3 sprigs of sage and you will get a deliciously tangy and reddish drink!
Lychee Nut Cocktail
This milky pink drink is perfect for the light drinkers! Mix 1 ounce of dark rum with 1/4 ounce of cherry brandy of your choice in a blender along with 1 ounce of lychees in a blender. Add in 1 teaspoon of sugar and blend it until smooth. The result is a smooth and nutty mixture flowing through your body!
Monkey in a Tree
Pineapples are a staple fruit when it comes to Chinese New Year. Especially for those originating from Guang Dong as the pineapple also means “welcoming fortune” in Cantonese! Pick up a bottle of Irish whiskey along with a bottle of Malibu Rum from your local beverage store. Pour the Malibu, pineapple juice, blended banana and grenadine in a glass then slowly stir in the Irish whiskey. This is definitely not a drink for the newbie!
