To celebrate the release of the Redmi Note 5 in physical stores, Xiaomi organised an exclusive food photography workshop at Botanica + Co, Alila Bangsar with resident food stylist Trisha Toh. If you’re a foodie, chances are you’re following her feed @trishates, and you might have spotted her scrumptious, one-of-a-kind work with Kind Kones, Troika Sky Dining, Sitka, and Mr Chew’s Chino Latino Bar.
Armed with a Redmi Note 5 in our hands, here’s what we learned from Trisha.
#1 Knowing your food
Just like any other photography subject, it helps to gain insight on your food. Get to know how the food was sourced, the philosophy behind the brand, and the mood you’d like to present. Moodboarding comes into play here – looking up photos on Pinterest will give you a burst of inspiration when it comes to planning a concept and shoot.
