I’ve always been one to take my New Year’s resolutions seriously. I will list down my goals for the new year,and bring forward goals I have yet to achieve last year. While eating healthy has always been a challenge for me, How can you resist Char Kuey Teow for 365 days? Instead my motto for eating healthy is “Never Give up.” There are spells where I binge eat, there are spells where I go vegetarian, no carbs, or even just juicing. It’s an ongoing challenge to eat healthy.. So I welcome 2017 with a healthy eating challenge with dahmakan Healthy food delivery.
Baked Perch with Penne Arrabiata
Penne Arrabiata is one of my favourite pasta dishes, so I really enjoyed my first meal. The fish was fresh and firm, well seasoned and tasty. The penne was full of flavour with crunchy roasted vegetables, and just the right amount of spiciness. The meal was really filling and it didn’t feel likeI was eating healthy because I had pasta, and pasta is one of my comfort foods. dahmakan was kind enough to include a wild mango chia pressed juice which was just heavenly on a hot day.
Jerk Grilled Chicken Thigh, tomato brown rice and corn on the cob
The chicken was well seasoned but it had a bit of a charcoaled taste which was a tad bitter for me. The chicken was juicy and paired with the rice made for a very fulfilling meal. Its sort of your healthier version of chicken rice. I must say that I don’t expect much in terms of flavour when it comes to healthy food, but dahmakan has really mastered the art of tasty, flavourful healthy food.
Roasted Chicken Banh Minh with mayonnaise and corn tomato salsa
This was a special on their menu in conjunction with celebrating dahmakan’s Anniversary. I love my banh minh sandwiches so I couldn’t resist. The chicken was well seasoned and juicy, fresh flavours of the vegetables and coriander leaves made the perfect sandwich. This really kept me full throughout the day.
Chicken and mushroom pie with roasted vegetables
Generous chunks of chicken and mushrooms in a creamy sauce baked in a crusty pie. The portion was big and very filling as there was a lot of chicken in the pie, Paired with roasted vegetables on the side. dahmakan has perfected the heathy pie and I highly recommend you try this.
Creamy pasta with baked salmon and roasted vegetables
I was a little disappointed when I opened the box to discover spaghetti as I was expecting pasta. Yes, pasta can be spaghetti but I was probably expecting penne,rigatoni, bow-tie pasta, just not spaghetti . When you’re trying to eat healthy every calorie and craving counts so I guess you get a little more fussy about your meals. Pasta issues aside, the pasta was delicious, creamy and the hint of lemon made the spaghetti taste fresh without that heavy feeling associated with creamy pasta. The sun-dried tomatoes was flavourful and sweet. The roasted vegetables added a nice touch to the meal.
I really enjoyed dahmakan’s healthy food delivery. Each meal was delivered on time, and warm. If your meal is delayed a representative form dahmakan will text you to inform you that your meal will be a little late that day due to heavy rain or traffic.
I used the dahmakan app which was super convenient as I could check my meals for the week and place an order for lunch or dinner.
