Sashimi enthusiasts are flocking to Medan Damansara’s latest eatery at Fincch Sushi Room for fresh delectable bites. Cosily nestled next to Mezze, guests are offered the option of ordering desserts from the bistro and lounge, while guests seated at Mezze can opt to order fresh sushi platters from Fincch. This comes thanks to the shared ownership of both eateries, as it traces its roots back to the owners behind Huckleberry and Birch.
Helming the sashimi bar is Head Chef Machi Lai, a familiar name to most Japanese food enthusiasts as he has been in the industry for almost three decades. Fincch’s pre-appetisers feed its guests guilty pleasures in the form of crispy chicken and salmon skin. With fresh fish flown in bi-weekly from Tokyo’s Tsukiji Fish Market, it comes as no surprise when the quality of produce is on par with the seasoned Head Chef’s skills. Don’t know where to start? Fincch’s Sashimi Platter is ideal: thick premium cuts of salmon belly, bluefin tuna, yellowtail, uni, shrimp, and cuttlefish. Kani Avocado Sarada is a generously portioned crab meat avocado salad served with your choice of two dressings. For lunch, we recommend the Bara Chirashi Don which comes with diced sashimi and tamago egg on a bed of sushi rice. Fincch also offers lunch sets suitable for a quick lunch meeting in a relaxed setting.
Deep fried dishes include Tempura Moriawase – a nice balance of deep fried shrimp and assorted vegetables. The star of the mains is undoubtedly Wagyu Shioyaki, 100g of sliced premium Japanese beef served on a sizzling hot cast iron plate. Though sliced thinly, it was melt-in-your-mouth sinful. If you only had the time or space for one more dish, let this be it.
