Given the limited Tonkatsu choices available in KL, this restaurant is most definitely a welcoming addition. Originating from Fukuoka, you can be assured of high quality pork as the restaurant takes pride in using premium, aged pork specially handpicked by the Chef himself before going through a 7-day marinating process.
Hot Pot Pork Loin Katsu Set (RM42)
One can never go wrong with breaded deep fried pork cutlet in a hot pot covered with a beaten egg. Consisting of a nice balance of lean meat and fat, the pork was well-seasoned and fried at an extremely high temperature, resulting in a crunchy beautiful golden brown outside yet juicy and moist inside. Do give their signature Worcestershire-based tonkatsu sauce a try by drizzling some over the meat for a stronger and more complex flavor.
The set came with a side of finely shredded cabbage salad, white radish pickle, rice and miso soup. My favourite was surprisingly the refillable shredded cabbage which goes perfectly with drizzles of Japanese shiso leaf dressing.
