If you’re one to arrive at Pavilion KL in an Uber to avoid the consistently terrible KL traffic, you won’t miss the entrance of Mercato. Nestled along Jalan Raja Chulan at Pavilion’s Fashion Avenue entrance, the café offers a mid-day break for shoppers with weary feet, while the oyster bar provides a pleasant ambience at night for the after-work goers. Both eateries share the same menu, littered with all-day dishes from breakfast sets, tapas, oysters, salads, pastas, to mains. Here are some of our picks.
Mercato prides itself on its beautifully put-together platters, as the salmon is smoked locally at Kota Kemuning and brought to the eatery for fresh consumption. Artfully coiled and draped on a wooden serving board, the smoked salmon slices were served with a sprinkle of onions, dill, and capers with a side of green olives and shallots. Heartily generous with the thickness of the cut, each bite was a delightful delicacy.
