Launching its latest Limited Edition SELECTION VINTAGE 2014, Nespresso is offering coffee lovers a chance to taste an aged coffee for the first time.
Highly special and sought after, aged coffee is coffee that has been deliberately aged over several years which allows it to develop new sensory dimensions over time. SELECTION VINTAGE 2014, made from fresh Arabica coffee derived from high altitudes in the Colombian highlands, was harvested three years ago and meticulously aged to achieve a complex taste with elegant woodiness, softened fruity note and a smooth velvet-like texture.
Back in the 1700s, ageing coffee involved the harvesting of coffee in Indonesia. The coffee was then sailed to Europe in ships for several months during which the beans would undergo swelling in the wet sea air and drying in the sun, altering the taste of the final coffee.
Now, the Nespresso experts, who wanted to benefit from the effect of aging by using specific controlled condition, pioneered a new method to age the SELECTION VINTAGE 2014 which includes regulating time, oxygen, moisture in the air, light and atmospheric pressure. The freshly harvested green Arabica coffee beans are thus transformed into SELECTION VINTAGE 2014.
Geoffrey Dalziel, Business Development Manager of Nespresso Malaysia explained, “Coffee culture in Malaysia has evolved tremendously, becoming more appreciated for its taste, uniqueness and origin. By applying a well-known concept in the food and drink industry to coffee, it has resulted in an outstanding coffee with a very distinct flavour profile.”
Priced at RM 30 for 10 capsules, RM90 for LE 3 Sleeve Pack and RM123 for LE 5 Intense Pack, SELECTION VINTAGE 2014 is available for a limited period from Nespresso worldwide. To place an order, log onto www.nespresso.com or call their Customer Relationship Centre at 1800 -80 -7001
