Patrons may know Delicious back in the days when it was a cafe connected to Ms. Read. Since then, countless cafes, restaurants, and delightful brunch spots have taken over KL - but Delicious (now taken over by Envictus, who also has the likes of Texas Chicken and San Francisco Coffee under its belt) has adapted and risen to become a grand-chic family restaurant with an entirely new menu.
With a new facelift, Delicious offers a pleasantly homey environment all while keeping it simple - with high ceilings, a bar, patterned floor tiles, and a little reading nook at the entrance of the cafe. We paid a visit to the grand cafe at 1 Utama - here's what we tried.
The Salmon Else (RM 22, top left) revolves around the concept of Italian Sashimi. Using fresh Atlantic salmon, the dish is drizzled in virgin lemon olive oil, lemon curd, horseradish sauce, Ikura, radish slices, and garnished with dill. Lemon curd dotted around the dish isn’t just for presentation – adding a zing of tangy brightness to the overall palate.
In a play of tongue-twisting words, Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater (RM 14, bottom left) is simple food fare – but no less than homey comfort food for the soul. Roasted pumpkin is blended with a celery-onion-carrot base, parmesan, garlic, strained for a smooth texture; and topped with roasted pumpkin seeds, crouton, and pumpkin hash.
