Patrons may know Delicious back in the days when it was a cafe connected to Ms. Read. Since then, countless cafes, restaurants, and delightful brunch spots have taken over KL - but Delicious (now taken over by Envictus, who also has the likes of Texas Chicken and San Francisco Coffee under its belt) has adapted and risen to become a grand-chic family restaurant with an entirely new menu.
With a new facelift, Delicious offers a pleasantly homey environment all while keeping it simple - with high ceilings, a bar, patterned floor tiles, and a little reading nook at the entrance of the cafe. We paid a visit to the grand cafe at 1 Utama - here's what we tried.
Chef Timothy Sebastian makes his squid ink pasta with a tomato paste base. Cooked in prawn stock, the Squid Inc. (RM 35) has strong briny flavour. To top it off, generously-sized tiger prawns, parsley, basil, and pangratto. The secret ingredient, Chef Timothy says, is the addition of cili padi – not too much, but it changes the flavour of the dish compared to when it is cooked without.
