Throughout recent years, we’ve seen the rise of luxurious boutique hotel trends that lead to the opening of countless luxurious boutique hotels all over the year. Now there is a new type of boutique hotel cropping up and they’re known as Homeware hotels.
Homeware hotels are themed hotels opened by popular home ware chains such as Muji and Soho House. The hotel rooms are created as a way for guests to “test drive” their products before they make a purchase. It all started when Made.com, a London based designs and retails home ware and furniture online store, started collaborating with hospitality industry experts. The result was the uniquely themed MADE hotel in Manhattan’s NoMad district. Since then the company has launched another unique concept hotel decorated with their furniture and home ware and many more companies has joined in.
Here are a few Homeware Hotels that we highly recommend to check in to when you’re travelling to these countries!
The Boathouse in partnership with Made.com
London, United Kingdom
Moored on the scenic waters of the Floating Pocket Park in West London is this unique number. The “boatel” is yet another concept hotel commissioned by Made.com. After the success of the MADE Hotel, the online retail business decided to mix things up by bringing their products onto a boat instead. Hire a private chef, deploy the complimentary rowing boat, or even invite a boat captain on board! You’re not short on activities even though you’re housed on a boat.

Rooms by Vipp
Vipp is a family-owned Danish design company that retails designer kitchen utensils and more. The company started when the founder created the first pedal-controlled dustbin. Now the company is working on launching one-bedroom design hotels where guests are invited to get a full experience with the products available on the website. The “test drive your kitchen before you buy it” concept is a good way for those who are looking to remodel their kitchen to discover what utensils works best for them and to determine if they will need something or not.

Soho Home goes Housing
Amsterdam, Netherlands and Mumbai, India
Instead of a homeware company expanding into the hospitality industry, Soho House has taken a different approach. The group first launched a few members’ club that proved to be quite a success. They’ve since ventured into opening hotels with the latest offering being the 38-room outpost in Mumbai. Following the success of their members’ club came the idea of Soho Home, the homeware retail business that sells everything from bathrobes to crystal glassware.
