Pack your bags because we’re going to Westeros!
The world over is teary eyed over the knowledge that the upcoming season of Game of Thrones is final season. This means we won’t get to see Westeros anymore, or King’s Landing, or Winterfell. We are all going to wear black and morn of the end of an era. Going one year without a new episode of GOT is hard enough but to go without it for the rest of our lives? I mean, how do we cope?!
But you can all put the dramatics on hold, because HBO has just announced that they will not be tearing down the set where the majority of the show was filmed. This means that even after the show ended we will still be able to transport ourselves to the Westeros! HBO will be converting the entire set for fans to visit and immerse themselves in their favourite TV show. Much like Harry Potter World was a transformation of the original set, Westeros will be turned into something similar.
The Game of Thrones Legacy Tour will be set in Northern Ireland. The tour will not just consist of Castle Black, Winterfell, and King’s Landing. Linen Mill Studios hopes to include more attractions alongside the sets to make it a full experience for fans. The creators of the attraction are aiming to open their doors on a date that would coincide with the ending of the final season that is set to premiere in the first half of 2019.
We’re only a few months away to the first half of 2019 so don’t despair too much! Meanwhile, let’s just enjoy the first look of GOT and other HBO series that will be coming to us in 2019.
