Damp hair is a runway classic, and can you believe that almost none of them were created by using actual water. It is never actually damp – hair gel and mousse are an absolute essential and a must-have to achieve this look! There were various takes of the damp look that were executed throughout fashion week. On the LaQuan Smith and Chloe runway, we saw hair brushed back with only the top heavily gelled with the rest allowing to fall loose below the ear, which made for a striking contrast. Whereas, Christopher Kane preferred a tight pulled back low ponytail, but still used a lot of gel to give a damp and extra sleek effect. Whether your preference is wearing your hair up, down, in a ponytail or bun, the starting base is always the same – taking either gel or styling mousse, comb the product in the hair from the root to wherever you wish to stop, not forgetting to lift and scrunch up the hair for extra volume whilst the hair is lying flat.
