Leave it to Riccardo Tisci and his team to bring new life and meaning to a typical British Christmas. This year, Burberry’s new Christmas campaign celebrates the eccentricity of a British Christmas. The campaign, which centres around a film entitled ‘Close Your Eyes and Think of Christmas’, features a star-studded cast that includes Kristin Scott Thomas and M.I.A, who make their Burberry campaign debut, alongside previous campaign stars Matt Smith and Naomi Campbell. Emphasizing on family values, Naomi’s mother, Valerie Morris-Campbell, also appears in the campaign.
The campaign, which was shot and directed by talented British artist and photographer Juno Calypso, explores celebratory Christmas traditions and rituals that resonates with the hearts of many. From the unpredictable British weather, to family gatherings, delayed trains and sumptuous feasts, these themes were expertly captured through Juno’s subverted and unexpected lens.
Deeply rooted in heritage, the campaign also features iconic Burberry pieces for men and women. Classic styles including the trench coat, car coat, TB Monogram and archive print scarves, the Belt Bag, tailoring and eveningwear were notable throughout the campaign.
Remember the highly anticipated Vivienne Westwood collaboration we mentioned not too long ago? A sneak peek of the exciting Vivienne Westwood & Burberry collaboration was also thrown into the campaign, modelled by Naomi Campbell and her mother Valerie Morris-Campbell. Fans of Burberry and Vivienne Westwood will be pleased to know that the 16-piece collection will launch in store and online on 6 December. Just in time for Christmas!
