God’s Love We Deliver hosted their 10th Annual Golden Heart Awards dinner at the Spring Studios in New York City on the 17th October, 2016. Naturally the guest list for the dinner included a slew of titans and stars from the media-fueled industry such as: Michael Kors, Anna Wintour, Neil Patrick Harris, Constance Jablonski, Park Soo Joo, Priyanka Chopra, Chrissy Teigen, John Legend, Iman, Fei Fei Sun and Nina Agdal – to name a handful. The star-studded event featured an awards presentation, embellished with dinner and cocktails – after all, no event can be complete without food and some good drinks. The cherry on top of the cake was that the evening managed to help raise a whopping USD 2 million.
The Golden Heart Awards is to commemorate the influential offerings of individuals, corporations and foundations to the organization’s cause. Funds raised at the awards ceremony will help make sure that no one in the New York City Metropolitan area need endure the dual crises of both hunger and life-altering illness.
Board Member of God’s Love We Deliver and respected fashion designer Michael Kors has a number of philanthropic commitments, including Watch Hunger Stop which is a partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme to help build a world without hunger. Launched in 2013, Watch Hunger Stop has raised over 13 million meals for those who are in need. Over the course of more than two decades, he has given his time and support to God’s Love We Deliver, reflecting his deep-rooted respect for the organization. This year, Michael had the honour of presenting the Michael Kors Award for Outstanding Community Service to model and entrepreneur Karlie Kloss. In addition, the Golden Heart Awards for Lifetime Achievement went to Danny Meyer while the Golden Heart Award for Outstanding Volunteerism was given to Wing Tat Leung.

God’s Love We Deliver is a non-sectarian organization and the leading provider of life-sustaining meals and nutrition counseling for people with severe illnesses of the New York metropolitan area. It first started out as an HIV/AIDS service organization, and now has evolved into being capable of providing for people living with more than 200 individual diagnoses. God’s love cooks and home-delivers specific, nutritious meals that clients with severe illness and intensive treatment so strictly require. In order to cater to everyone carefully, meals are individually customized for each client by registered Dietitian Nutritionists, and every client has unlimited access to nutrition counseling so that they can build their own education and awareness. God’s Love supports families by providing meals for children and senior caregivers of its clients. Best of all, all of the agency’s services are provided free of charge, and in its history of 31 years it has never required a waiting list. In 2016, God’s Love will cook and deliver over 1.5 million meals to 6,600 vulnerable New Yorkers.
