Happy 30th Birthday Nike Air Max 90! Celebrating Inclusivity with a Timeless Classic
To kick off the new decade, Nike moves towards a positive and inclusive direction with a gender-neutral Nike Air Max 90 collection.
Previously known as the Air Max III in 1990, the Nike Air Max 90 has come a long way. Since its original release, the iconic shoe designed by Tinker Hatfield has seen many reincarnations. Officially renamed the Air Max 90 in 2000, the cult classic was reinvented with note-worthy updates that included a bigger Air unit, a multi-port lacing system that allowed for more fit options as well as textured panels on the upper that enhanced its lively aesthetic.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the unisex shoe is recrafted – with a sleeker deconstructed toe and a lower more dynamic mudguard to name a few – and is available in various colourways, a detail inspired by the shoe’s original colour blocking. Other features include an Air Max 1 outsole on the bottom and a recreation of the original skinny box design from the ’90s.
Available at selected retailers or on the SNKRS and SNEAKRS app.
