Held at the stunning art décor, Freemasons Hall, the show was attended by some recognized faces in London’s fashion community like fashion editors, media, embassies, alumni, and their family and friends. Not to mention the representatives from UK brand, Julien Macdonald who attended and astonished by the inspiring collection. Well, nothing completes any fabulous fashion shows without everything else beautify each model. The event was in partnership, with Toni & Guy, Kryolan Make Up, Wanderlust & Co. and Saadiah Aziz.
How did the beautiful pieces come about? This year, the students and designers sourced materials from their home countries to build the garments. From Botswana, Lesotho, Indonesia to Iran, and of course, Malaysia, they found the right materials to inject into their collection. We are very impressed with the university’s involvement in continuously presenting Asian and African cultures to a western audience. Looking back in 2012, they highlighted the values of Asian and African cultures with extravagant accessories and high-end looks.
For years, the students have been under the guidance of Dato Tiffanee Marie Lim. Their world-class collections have been successfully showcased in Osaka, Chengdu, Cambodia, Botswana, Jakarta, Paris, London, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and, of course, Malaysia. And for that, they have received high acclaim from Vogue UK, Harper’s Bazaar, Singapore Fashion Week. If you’ve watched the second season of American Beauty Star, you will the “Date Night” pieces were being featured. A beauty competition featuring Beyonce’s makeup artist, Sir John and hosted by supermodel, Ashley Graham.
