2. Lyrica Okano
Lyrica was born to Japanese parents who came to the United States from Tokyo, attracted by the vibrant punk rock scene, but eventually settled down in IT (mom) and teaching (dad). Lyrica was initially active in gymnastics and was groomed for the Oympics. However, she dropped out the sport at the age of 14 because she was convinced she didn’t have any social skills. In the US, she felt she had difficulty fitting in because she was the only Asian girl in school, however, when she moved to Kyoto, she was bullied as she was considered too American. Lyrica’s role as Nico Minoru in Hulu’s original series, Runaways, is her biggest to date.
