Today marks the first day of Ramadan. Let’s be real, the beginning stage is usually not going to be a walk in the park for some of us. Food has always been the source to lift up our mood and energy. So with the recent unexpected changes of weather, it is very important for us to be fully prepared, both spiritually and physically. How to do it? By preparing a nutritious meal for Sahur that our tummy, body and mood will love!
But first, to those who don’t know, Ramadan is part of the Islamic tradition to fast from dawn to dusk as a way to improve oneself spiritually. They will spend more time with family, learn to forgive and forget, and avoid anything inappropriate. Muslims are also required to wake up every day in the holy month at about four in the morning until half past five in the morning for “Sahur” (at least in Malaysia). This pre-dawn meal is beneficial and acts as blessings to Muslims who are fasting from being weak throughout the day. With that, we urge all Muslims to include these delicious and filling food such as bananas with almond butter toast, raspberry smoothie, endless egg fiesta and more that will keep you hydrated, energized and lifted throughout the entire month of Ramadan.
