And we totally get it.
It has just been announced that Ben Affleck has pulled out of his upcoming Netflix film, Triple Frontier, with the 44-year-old actor reportedly wanting to focus on his family instead.
This is sure to be a blow for the Netflix production, already losing actors Channing Tatum and Tom Hardy due to scheduling conflicts.
The action film, directed by JC Chandor, is set in the border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil, starring Mahershala Ali and Adria Arjona – set to hit screens in 2019.
Had it not been for Ben’s need to spend time with his family, it seems like the film would have been right up the Argo actor’s street. His decision is completely understandable however with the actor and his wife of 12 years, Jennifer Garner, officially filing for divorce in April this year.
Issuing a joint statement back when Ben and Jennifer announced the split, the couple stated, ‘We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter.’
Despite the actor’s reported new relationship with Saturday Night Live producer Lindsay Shookus, Ben and Jen are taking a page out of the Gwyneth-Chris handbook and remaining friends since their separation. They vacation together, co-host birthday parties for their children, and just days ago Ben made a sweet tribute to his ex wife in an award acceptance speech.
While receiving a humanitarian award at the Starkey Hearing Foundation Gala on Sunday, Ben explained how he told his daughter about the award he had won, going on to quote her reaction – ‘Yeah, Dad. Mom already has that one.’
