NIK NASHA ADAMIA
FOUNDER OF NASHPOTATOES
Nasha graduated as a lawyer from an international University, and upon returning to Malaysia, decided to pursue what she deemed was a more ‘meaningful’ direction that gives back to society. She decided to focus on using her background to represent and help refugees instead. But her work as a lawyer representing refugees left her frustrated as there was a need to remain hands-off to prevent accusations of favouritism. She then decided to step off the legal team and jump straight into an active role in helping refugees.
Even in university, Nasha had a knack for arts and crafts. She sold her creations on a platform she founded called NashPotatoes. After she left the world of law, she dove back into NashPotatoes and evolved it into something more in-tune with her desire for giving back. The first project she embarked on was to help communities like the Chin refugees from Myanmar to earn a living by designing everyday products with designs that features the refugees’ unique home culture for them to craft out and sell. Currently Nasha is focusing her efforts on the Tassel Project to help raise funds for the Rohingya women settled in Gombak.
