SINGER & DIRECTOR OF TRUE COMPLEXION
Growing up with a prominent birthmark across her face was not easy for Rozella Mahjhrin. She was subjected to ruthless teasing throughout her childhood. But luckily, she did not allow the years of being bullied deter her from pursuing a career in music. Rozella counts herself lucky to have found music to help her with her self-confidence. But she also realised that not many who have gone through the same ordeal can say the same. With that in mind she started the True Complexion project to empower people struggling with body image issues. Her aim was to make them feel comfortable in their bodies and regain their self confidence. True Complexion started as a story telling platform on social media. The stories gained so much attention that she was offered opportunities to bring the stories she discovered onto a podcast that shines the light on inclusive beauty. Rozella’s hard work juggling between directing True Complexion and running her music career has received international recognition from the 2019 Global Eisenhower Fellowships in the United States.
