This year’s Golden Globe Awards showcased the stars owning the limelight in glittering threads and classic silhouettes with barefaced and Nude make-up looks making its way on the Red Carpet.
The more noteworthy looks of the night played heavily on old Hollywood glamour, glittery sequined numbers and teasing bits of tastefully exposed shoulders, décolleté and mid riff.
Saoirse Ronan looked demure in a White Yves Saint Lauren Couture Grecian-style dress complete with a cape and plunging neckline. The nominee for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for her role in ‘Brooklyn’ took the minimal route and completed her outfit with a pair of Chandelier earrings.
Award winner for Best Actress in Motion Picture – Drama for her role in ‘Room’, Brie Larson sparkled in a glittery gold sequined gown custom made by Calvin Klein Collection. The halter neck gown showed just enough of her toned stomach and back with cutouts at the waist and an almost bare back.
Lady Gaga went for old Hollywood glam and dressed up in a custom Versace gown with a low sweetheart neckline. The singer-turned-actress went for the blonde bombshell look in the sweeping black gown and blonde curls. Her outfit wasn’t the only thing winning though as the actress walked away with the award for Best Actress in a TV Movie – Limited series.
Joy seemed an apt description for how Jennifer Lawrence might have felt at her win for portraying a divorced mother of two in the comedy motion picture ‘Joy’. The star who looked stunning in a bright vermillion red Dior number with a high neck and cutout waist won the award for Best Actress in a Musical – Comedy Motion Picture.
Emmy Rossum’s look made the most of clean lines, showing off her curves in a figure hugging strapless gown with a mermaid train in a bright scarlet by Armani Prive.
Olivia Wilde’s outfit joined the host of plunging necklines seen on the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards ceremony in a glittering garnet halter neck gown by Michael Kors. The actress who was set to present an award later during the ceremony accessorized with a white minaudiere, gold and red necklace and cocktail ring.
Showing that fashion knows no age limits, 19 year old Zandaya Coleman showed up in a three tiered Merlot coloured number with a plunging neckline by Marchesa. The dark red complimented her olive skin, giving her an allure as exotic as her name.
Alicia Vikander who was nominated for her roles in ‘The Danish Girl’ (Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama) and ‘Ex Machina’ (Best Supporting Actress in any Motion Picture) showed the softer side of fashion in a Louis Vuitton white pleated gown adorned with tiny ruffles along the neckline and sleeve.
