- COMPLAINING
We get it, there are days when nothing seems right – not your finances, relationship or work. The pressure of nothing working out builds and builds and it’s very tempting to vent and let off steam by throwing a fit and complaining. As a newlywed, I complained about how living with my husband felt more like a chore than love, and I nagged a lot! I was not happy about him not washing the dishes, cleaning the bed and throwing out the trash. Thank god he was patient. Instead of retaliating, he listed down the chores as he was doing versus what I was doing at home and it became clear that I wasn’t contributing as much as I thought I was. I was embarrassed and ashamed and learned my lesson well from this episode – while it’s tempting to mouth off, look at yourself first before complaining about others. If you’re in a situation that upsets you, take a step back, find a solution and work towards solving the problem.
