Remember that cult classic written by Tina Fey? Mean Girls was loosely based on a book titled Queen Bees and Wannabes and it help put big names like Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried on the Hollywood map. The movie put the term plastic into our vocabulary and firmly reminded us that not everybody from Africa is black. It’s been 14 years and the movie is still super fetch! We’ve totally lost count of how many times we’ve watched it. We’re very sure it’s the same case for you as well!
14 years later and the Power of Plastics have aligned so we’re shouting out to all Mean Girls fans! Because October 3rd is just around the corner and it’s going to fall on Wednesday. And you know what that means right? Wednesdays we wear pink!
Wondering what’s the occasion and why October 3rd of all days? As a true Mean Girls fan you would remember the scene Aaron Samuels turned to Cady Heron in Ms. Norbury’s Math class and asking her what day it was. This was one of the pivotal moments of Cady and Aaron’s relationship as they slowly got to know each other and start to develop sweet feelings for each other. Unfortunately, those sweet moments were interrupted by the Queen Bee, Regina George, who swept in and snapped Aaron up and away.
Since October 3rd was such an important day for Cady 14 years ago, we as her biggest fans should celebrate her special day. And what better way to celebrate the occasion then to go head to toe pink? Fans on Twitter are calling out to all fans to put on your best pink outfits and channel the Power of Plastics to show their support and love for the movie and the characters. So remember to put it on your calendar so you don’t forget! Or else you can’t sit with us!
