Return of the Hollywood Prankster: Paris
Like a bad horror flick, Vitalii Sediuk strikes again, this time in the streets of the City of Love – Paris, and the victim was no other than the biggest socialites known to pop culture, Kim Kardashian.
Surrounded by paparazzi, Kim was walking away from her car when Sediuk came speed-walking from the crowd before bending down to kiss her butt. He was wearing the same hat and sunglasses as when he attacked Gigi Hadid in Milan last week. Luckily, her bodyguard Pascal Duvier was able to quickly act and tackle the prankster to the ground before further physical contact with the celebrity. Although shocked, Kim managed to keep her cool and eventually disappeared into the crowd away from the fray.
This also isn’t the first time Sediuk has tried to make physical contact with Kim. Two years ago, also at Paris during Fashion week, the Ukrainian prankster nearly knocked her down in front of husband Kanye West and mother Kris Jenner in an attempt to hug her. Although the same bodyguard, Duvier was there to guard Kim, the latter was nearly crushed in the large crowd that surrounded her that day. “He is known bothering individual and still the law does allow him to do it over and over again,” Kim’s bodyguard Pascal Duvier commented on his Instagram after the assault.
ReAction. And here is where the legal system has a loophole. If I would have punched, I would have been charged with battery/assault. Action of self defense are only permitted during an ongoing attack/threat. It’s possible that this incident could have been seen coming all along – especially after Sediuk’s defensive statement after his assault on Gigi, saying that his pranks are “a manifest or a protest”, and that it “is also a wake-up call for Anna Wintour, who turned Vogue into a tabloid by putting Kardashians and other similar celebrities on a cover of a well-respected magazine”.
