A modern European restaurant and bar that guarantees to mesmerize with its one of a kind dishes prepared right in front of you.
A mere three months after its successful launch in November, Deuce continues to mesmerise urbanites with its warm and inviting space where European food is given a slight twist. The fusion recipes will leave one basking in hearty flavours. For those wanting to unwind after a hectic day at work, Deuce is the place for you. From its relaxing soulful jazz music to its beautiful paintings on the wall and wide selection of wine as you let your taste buds indulge.
We sampled some of the recommended dishes on Deuce’s (exclusively night-time) menu, here are our must-try picks.
This dish is under the small plates section and makes a good appetizer to start with. The pumpkin and ricotta tortellini with curry oil and deep fried sage just melts into one’s mouth effortlessly. The ricotta tortellini goes very well with the pumpkin; with just the right amount of creamy cheesiness. Every forkful brought an explosion of flavours—a bit of sweetness from the pumpkin mixed with the cheesy ricotta tortellini. Those who are a bit skeptical when it comes to pumpkin, will have their minds changed as this dual combination brings out the best flavours in each other.
Pile on the mushrooms with this delicious mushroom appetizer, served with poached egg, truffle mousse; pine and hazelnut crumble and, of course, seasonal mushrooms. The best way to enjoy it is to get a little bit of everything in your spoonful – a healthy coat of egg and truffle mousse on the mushroom.
If you love yourself a plentiful serving of fresh fleshy picked crab meat, then the Typhoon Shelter Crab Spaghetti is it. Not to forget the generous amount of crispy fried garlic atop. This spicy seafood dish hails from Hong Kong and is believed to have originated from the typhoon shelters. Deuce takes on this Asian dish by adding pasta in the mix, giving it that Italian twist. We enjoyed every forkful of this dish; as the best of both worlds were literally brought together in this dish.
The avocado dessert is a big hit on Deuce’s menu. The avocado takes on a local twist, resembling the seri muka, the local kuih with green custard layer made from pandan juice and coconut milk with glutinous rice tucked underneath it—but with some delicious avocado added in the mix. The combination results in the taste of fragrant and sweet pandan coconut taste with hints of the avocado’s creaminess and slightly bitter aftertaste, served with kerisik (grated coconut) on the side.
