WEIL is the reverse spelling of the owner’s surname Liew. Although the owner of the hotel was trained in the business field, Mr Liew decided that he has more interest to continue in the family business in the hospitality field. Hence the creation of the quirky WEIL hotel where the owner works to incorporate everything that he finds lacking in the modern day mainstream hotels.
Set in the top floor of the hotel, the rooms on the Concept Floor offers guests stunning views and a unique concept with their different rooms. And when we say different, we mean different as only a number of rooms are similar to each other. You get the usual Executive, Studio, and Premier rooms, but there are also the Brewster, Summer Bliss, Telegraph and Miners Concept.
These rooms are inspired by Ipoh’s local culture such as the Brewster room that is decorated with the stately elegance of the British Colonial period with dark wood panelling and terrazzo flooring. The Miner concept on the other hand pays tribute to Ipoh’s rich history of tin mining with its Oriental-inspired design features. While the Telegraph floor is inspired by the 1920s SOHO flapper style.
When in WEIL Hotel, we highly recommend taking the breakfast feast on offer at the Yuk Sou Hin restaurant on the second floor. Or if you’re looking for a delicious speakeasy, head for The Deck on the top floor for the most delicious cocktails you can find in Ipoh!
