Shane Filan stole the hearts of millions across the globe almost a decade ago with infamous boy band Westlife. Fast forward to 2018 and he's set to do the same with his collection of timeless love songs in his solo career - from You and Me, Right Here, to his latest - Love Always.
In this exclusive interview, Marie Claire chats with the Irish singer-songwriter about the power of social media and getting Jennifer Lawrence to play the lead in Love Always.
Is that for better or for worse?
I think it’s both. Social media can get out of control. Certain people can give away too much of their lives. I try to have a connection as best as I can with my fans, but I don’t share too much about my family. The very odd time that you might see something about my family and kids – but I try and keep them out of this world because they’re not old enough to decide anything for themselves yet. When they are older they might not like that I have pictures of them online. I always try and keep it separate – I won’t take a picture of my kids on the couch, I won’t do that, ever. Social media is great but it’s also quite dangerous too.
